In the summer of 2012, Jeff von der Schmidt, Artistic Director of the LA International New Music Festival, visited Elliott Carter at his home in New York City to discuss plans for an all Carter program at REDCAT in Walt Disney Concert Hall on July 15, 2012. The concert featured the West Coast premieres of A Sunbeam’s Architecture, The American Sublime and What Are Years, along with performances of Tintinnabulation and On Conversing With Paradise.
