Henri Dutilleux

I am very touched to be asked to pay homage to such a great composer as Elliott Carter who is held in such high regard in Europe and especially in France. I didn’t have so many opportunities to meet him, but if I don’t remember precise meetings, I remember him as a very nice and strong character, a very charming man and though we were far from each other – the Atlantic Ocean between us – I remain close to him and to his music.
