Amici della Musica di Padova presents a program highlighting the link between Giuseppe Tartini and the religious movement of the Franciscans throughout his life through the places the composer lived and the aesthetics underlying many of his compositions. Ten years after his death, the performance features two of Elliott Carter’s 4 Lauds for solo violin; short compositions of spiritual inspiration, each dedicated to a musician friend of the author. Two sonatas from Giuseppe Tartini’s 1888 manuscript complete the program.
